Raising awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Resource Center at PPUM (Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya) in support of the B40 Breast Cancer Diagnostic Fund.

  • Breast cancer is the No 1 common cancer among women in Malaysia.

  • 1 in 23 women in Malaysia faces a lifetime risk of developing Breast Cancer.

  • 50.5% of Malaysian breast cancer cases are detected late (Stage 3 & 4)

  • Early detection = 87.5% survival rate! Many B40 women cannot afford the RM1,500-RM5,000 needed for critical diagnostic tests.

PPUM’s Breast Cancer Resource Centre

(Located at Menara Selatan, Led by Prof Dr. See Mee Hoong, Head of Breast Surgery unit at PPUM)

This one-stop center provides care for 3,000 patients and the hospital clinic serves 10,000 breast cancer patients yearly offering:

– Comprehensive medical support
– Counselling & emotional support programs
– Because cancer affects more than just the body

Why Are We Raising Funds?

PPUM does not subsidised fully diagnostic procedure unless you are a government servant. We aim to provide financial aid to B40 women battling cancer. Your support can make a life-saving difference.

What is B40 Diagnostic Fund – Providing Hope Through Early Detection?

With a household income of RM3,400, many cannot afford essential diagnostic procedures, and early detection is crucial. This fundraising initiative aims to support individuals from the B40 community by ensuring access to vital diagnostic and support services.

What the Fund Covers?

Breast Cancer Diagnostics Procedure:
✅ Biopsy for suspicious breast lesions and imaging diagnostics (Mammogram, Ultrasound) (RM500 - RM2,000)

✅ Stereotactic Guided Vacuum Assisted Biopsy
Detects early microcalcifications in mammograms (RM3,500 - RM5,000)

✅ MRI-Guided Biopsy
Essential for precise diagnosis (RM6,000 – RM 8,000)

It is a series of medical tests used to detect breast cancer, determine its type, and assess its stage before deciding on the appropriate treatment plan
